Welcome to Ember Yard
Ember Yard is the fourth restaurant from Salt Yard Group and takes inspiration from Spanish and Italian methods of cooking over charcoal.
Ember Yard is located at number 60 Berwick Street (in the heart of Soho) and is a lovely two storey restaurant and bar, with an open plan kitchen on the ground floor and a cool and cosy bar on the lower ground floor.
We also have a private dining room that can accommodate parties of up to 24 people - perfect for parties, meetings or fun group get-togethers!
The same delicious menu is available throughout and we encourage you to come along before you dine to sample one of our specially created Ember-themed cocktails.
Born in Portugal and raised in Australia, Paulo’s earliest childhood food memories are of coming home from school and carving into the home made Portuguese presunto his father use to cure. Following the calling of the hospitality industry Paulo left Australia and travelled the world, finally ending up in London. Here he accepted a role at Balans Restaurant in Chelsea and enjoyed a fruitful 13 years with the group.
The constant search for a greater challenge brought Paulo to Ember Yard. In his current role as general manager, Paulo hopes to provide a solid foundation for the staff, both old and new. Leading by example from the front, and demonstrating high standards of service with an easy going engaging Australian welcome.
Jacques Fourie has been head chef at Ember Yard since its opening in November 2013. He came to London in 2008, having just completed his studies in Cape Town, to gain international experience. He started working with Chef Director Ben Tish at Salt Yard not long after that, and has been with the group ever since. He worked his way through the ranks and spent 5 years as sous chef at Salt Yard. When the idea for Ember Yard formed Jacques was the natural fit as cooking over wood and fire is one of his biggest passions.
